To-Increase > Blog > To-Increase Product Management update October

Dear Customer and Partner,

As we are on our way towards Christmas and the last stretch of 2017, our teams have been pushing hard to deliver updates and alignment with the execution of the Microsoft Dynamics strategy. During September and October we learned the new strategic direction for Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Microsoft is moving forward with “Tenerife” in 2018 and will ship NAV 2018 in December.

Below, you find two types of information:

  1. Solutions Updates tell you about our enhancements and plans for our solutions on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017.
  2. Solution Availability tables show you when our solutions are becoming available for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017.

Solution Updates

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations

At present the roadmap workload to migrate to the spring release is winding down as we are nearing completion. We are working on the final stretch for Invoice Workflow, and GovCon is our last asset to migrate. At the same time we are working to ship Dynamic Security Management (DSM) for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations next month. This solution promises to help a lot of customers dealing with GDPR issues in their Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment, and also improve general compliance of user access to data.

Dynamics Anywhere Mobility Studio now generally available
The latest innovation we have shipped to our partners and customers last month is Mobility Studio, which is the next level in Enterprise Mobility and follows up on the success we have had with Dynamics Anywhere. Mobility Studio replaces the former Dynamics Anywhere Framework, and is redesigned to be even better equipped for purposes of enterprise mobility. Mobility Studio keeps the features that make it so versatile and intuitive. You can use it to create mobile apps for any process in Dynamics 365, using a simple, two-step process of designing and connecting. Independent of operating systems, it runs on any device that uses a browser. New capabilities in our Business Integration Solutions
With our integration and migration solutions we have been able to help customers succeed with even the most complex data issues, such as migrating historical data. In the latest release, we have pushed the envelope to support more cloud-based options. Introducing new file actions and web services support now allows customers to easily build and deploy modern integrations, with, for example, Trello, Wunderlist, Zendesk, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Customer Service, just to name a few. This new way of integration deployment will help our partners and customers re-innovate their integrations and still support them with the ease of use in our Business Integration Solutions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

Microsoft Dynamics 2012
CU13 is now available and we are currently planning the migration. Read more about CU13 at the Microsoft blog. We will inform you soon about our schedule for the migration.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV “Tenerife” and NAV 2018
A lot of news on NAV has been shared during Directions USA. After initial confusion on the release schedule from Microsoft, it is now confirmed NAV 2018 is planned for later this calendar year. Read more from Microsoft at the community website. We have scheduled our offerings to be available shortly after NAV 2018 releases. Based on the latest information, no changes are expected. However, the cloud strategy for NAV is still in flux. We will align our roadmap once we receive firmer directions from Microsoft.

Better project accounting and planning in the making for IEM
During our conversations with customers and partners we have realized that we needed to expand on the way postings are done for jobs. Therefore, we are introducing new capabilities in posting profiles for jobs, dealing better with fixed-price jobs in the IEM industry. Second, we embarked on improving graphical project planning for IEM. These new features will become available on NAV 2018.

Moving forward with Dynamics Anywhere
In line with the new approach of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to Dynamics Anywhere, we are working on several improvements for our mobile product. The first area of improvement is user responsiveness, making the use of the apps more smooth. Also, we are overhauling the user interface, giving it a better look and feel with fresh modern design.
