We hope you are enjoying your holidays. In this month’s update we like to highlight on progress at present. A key event is the new Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations release, shipped by Microsoft on the 30th of June. That availability marks the start of our product portfolio migration to this new release. Also we keep moving on the extensions transformation for all our Dynamics 365 for Operations and Finance solutions to meet the roadmap set by Microsoft.

Below, you find two types of information:

  • Solutions Updates tell you about our enhancements and plans for our solutions on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017.
  • Solution Availability tables show you when our solutions are becoming available for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017.

Solution Updates

Microsoft Dynamics NAV “Tenerife”

Based on our planning we are now aiming our next releases to be available on the next release for NAV, codenamed “Tenerife”. We are bringing our a number of new capabilities in this release across the NAV products. Key new items to share already are major improvements on visual planning, both in IEM and Food, PLM connector for IEM and various other improvements scheduled for the next release, which will drive more cloud driven offerings for NAV.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations

We have the preview version available for Dynamics Anywhere for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations. There are two key things to be aware of regarding Dynamics Anywhere Mobility Studio. One, this is a mobile framework which allows you to create and customize mobile capabilities in just two steps: design and connect. Two, this powerful solution also provides an intuitive import wizard. Current AX Anywhere customers can use the wizard to migrate their mobile applications into Dynamics 365 quickly and easily. Please reach out to us to start your next generation journey into enterprise mobility. We are, like with all other solution working on the migration to the latest release, just shipped by Microsoft. Our new mobility offering is fusing RapidValue technology for modeling with the strong Mobile Application setup capabilities in Dynamics Anywhere. This will provide highly flexible, yet ease to use mobile offerings in every logistical process of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

On the manufacturing side of te offerings we are ramping up our PLM integration work so we will provide revitalized capabilities in this business space, enriching our Product Engineering capacities in the cloud. We already made a number of improvements in readiness control in the last release so combined with improvements in PLM integration, using our own integration technology, we provide strong process support in manufacturing and engineering processes.

Needless to say we keep moving on the alignment with the new spring release, whilst working on the transition from customizations to extensions. Busy times, but highly need to secure long term alignment with the Microsoft cloud strategy.

Microsoft Dynamics 2012

Our Advanced Discrete Manufacturing and Architecture, Engineering, and Construction solution suites for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 are now available in version R3 CU12. You can download software and documentation from the portal.

We boosted functionality in Enterprise Asset Management and Visual Planning for Projects, two modules that are part of both solutions.

Most important: In Enterprise Asset Management, you now have a planning board, which lets planners perform work order scheduling by means of simple dragging and dropping in Gantt charts. The planning board makes scheduling work orders much more efficient and convenient. Because not everybody will want this functionality, customers who do will acquire it with its own software license. Restrictions that may apply to the use of the planning board in general and its specific features; please contact us for the details.

In the Enterprise Asset Management mobile client, we made several changes to enable a more productive and seamless user experience.

Enhancements in Visual Planning for Projects aim to improve its usability and performance. For instance, you can define delays between linked tasks, use a histogram in task planning, and display the entire project in a single-line compacted view.

The next AX 2012 R3 CU13 upgrade is expected later in 2017. At this moment the complete portfolio on AX 2012 R3 is available on CU12.
