Food Commodity Management offers an easy way to set up and manage commodities, vendors, and receiving locations. The solution integrates fully with the commodity management capabilities in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, so you can direct your company’s commodity-related activities efficiently across the entire ERP environment.

Following an uncomplicated vendor setup, Food Commodity Management for Dynamics 365 Business Central lets you elevate the quality of vendor relationships with accurate, advance payments and vendor-specific purchase tracking. At the same time, you can reliably and efficiently process receipts for a certain commodity item as a single quantity. You also can separate payments and costing, because what you pay your vendors may not be the same as the inventory value of a commodity.

Food Commodity Management for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Features

Commodity manifests

In Food Commodity Management, you enter customer receipts through commodity manifests, which enable you to combine purchases from multiple vendors into a single amount, post the manifest to receive this combined amount into inventory, and generate purchase orders for each vendor.

Commodity classes

Providing a structure for costing items, commodity classes incorporate cost components with associated cost factors, assigned to cost periods. When you enter new cost factors, Food Commodity Management uses these associated cost components to determine the costs of commodity trading within a cost period.

Advance payments

You can use the advance payment capability to determine payments for open purchase orders and initiate partial payments to vendors even before all cost factors have been determined.

Food Quality Control integration

The cost components in Food Commodity Management integrate closely with Food Quality Control, making it easy to include quality test results when you calculate the cost of commodities.
