Mento has served the energy market, mainly the oil, gas, and rig companies, since 1971. They started transporting personnel and mail in the Stavanger Region for their first contract with Phillips. Although their main business is selling filtration, hoses, valves, and drilling-related equipment, they also offer rental and maintenance services offshore.

Business Situation

Why Mento needed a rental solution

Mento was working with an old rental solution, which was developed internally. The solution was getting old, and could not manage the rising demands for their rental services. In addition, Microsoft was ending support for the ERP system, Axapta Dynamics, that Mento was using. Therefore, Mento was in search of a new ERP that would help them digitally transform their business. As a supplier of equipment used under high pressure offshore, maintenance of assets is a crucial part of Mento’s business. Hence, they wanted rental software that would trace maintenance, keep track of maintenance certificates, and manage business objects.

The Solution

Mento chose DynaRent because it is a cloud-based rental solution embedded in  Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM, with quick time to value. Mento implemented DynaRent in two phases. The phased approach resulted in faster implementation and was easier to manage. It took about seven months to go live with the rental part, while the go-live for service and maintenance took just three months!

With DynaRent in Dynamics 365 F&SCM, Mento has automated their rental processes, eliminating redundant paperwork. DynaRent provides them with a 360-degree view of their equipment, enabling them to track the maintenance status of each piece of equipment and monitor the availability of equipment, providing a better view of their revenue.

“We decided to go with DynaRent because it is an additional standard solution that can be embedded into Dynamics. And that meant it would save us developmental costs and efforts. In DynaRent, we got a good system that enables us to plan resources and manage our fleet.”

Next Steps: Leveraging the power of Mobile App and Digital Scanning Solution

Mento is currently working with To-Increase to implement DynaRent Mobile App and Anywhere for Rental for scanning capabilities with hand-held devices and RFID codes on equipment.

While DynaRent Mobile App empowers field service engineers to deliver repair & maintenance work on customer sites, Anywhere for Rental allows equipment rental companies to optimize logistical operations with a mobility app anytime.

“These capabilities will help us track real-time information on the maintenance status of equipment.”
